Ceremonies I offer
Celebration of life / civil funerals
A celebration of life, or a civil funeral, is an alternative to a more traditional funeral service incorporating a little, or no, religion, or other spiritual and symbolic elements, as desired.
The emphasis is on your loved one’s personal life story; who they were, what they liked (and didn’t like!), what they did and said and how they will be remembered.
I’ll create a personalised tribute after spending time with you to learn more about the person, as you share your memories with me.
Naming ceremonies
Naming ceremonies can be a great way to welcome new children into the family, whether they are babies or older, or step, foster or adopted children.
Such celebrations involve making a commitment to loving parenting of your child/ren with family and friends committing to support you.
You can make your own special promises to your child/ren in terms of your commitment, dedication, hopes and dreams for them. You may also want to more formally appoint others; guide parents or guardians, to help look after and support them.
Couple ceremonies
I can conduct a range of ceremonies for you and your partner.
Legally, I can marry you through a civil marriage, or conversion to marriage ceremony and I can also deliver non legal civil partnership, commitment (a public declaration of life-long commitment, love and dedication between two people) or vow renewal ceremonies.
Spiritual ceremonies
If you’re seeking something more nature-based and Pagan-like, I’m qualified to conduct spiritual civil ceremonies incorporating the earth’s elements to represent different parts of a couple’s relationship.
Set outdoors, the unscripted ceremonies take place within and around a decorative ceremonial circle and include guest readers, the lighting of a marriage, naming or life candle, a water blessing and drinking from ceremonial cups as well as other symbolic acts.
